    What are you listening to?

I'm on a Gojira kick, at the moment. The live BBC Rock Show version of Shooting Star is pretty dope.

I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death

Was listening to this old prog rock album and realized I totally recognized part of it because J Dilla sampled it:

The new de la soul album was good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Extd...kA5P6lz9-N0dpt
That was maybe AOTP's worst album and it was still good.

Nice. I saw Joey Ryan live once at a PWG show, after his TNA run but before his "World's Cutest Tag Team" run.

Ive wanted a thread like this for a while, I need some new music too. I'm surprised so many of you are into metal. Makes me hesitant to link the "dad-rock" I've been listening to lately.

That's the type of music that I'd have to be in the right mood for. Generally, I listen to metal, or Wardruna.

Vinyl. Every now and then, I come across a relative's collection and give their records a spin. Back in the 1980s, I gave my sister Hey Jude by the Beatles, a collection of B-sides and rarities. That same disc is on my record player right now.

Metal needs to incorporate more of the horns featured at 5:25, sounds like an battle from antiquity is about to kick off.
Pretty sure there's some Amon Amarth with horns. I can't remember which songs, though.

Oh, here's one that Smoot turned me on to.

Was bullshitting around the other day had this pop up on one of those music apps.
I completely forgot about Filter (fun fact: lead singer is the liquid terminators brother) they had some pretty good stuff back in the day.

Japanese light Jazz band from back in the day, I bet they crushed so much Jap-poon back in their days.

Yeah unfortunately I've never been into the screaming vocals, it's a boner killer for me and I'm not sure why it just is.
Sucks too because there are some super talented musicians in those bands I just could never get past the vocals.

Hakke is a beast drummer, man. It's impressive given his injury and nerve issues in his foot.

As in vinyl? You a collector or one of those audiophile types?

I wonder if there are any chances of those being worth some cash after he croaks.

Yeah but there's a sweet spot in their senility where they kind of forget what numbers mean or maybe you could catch one of Mr. Taylor's former groupies reminiscing about the time he got four in their clunge and they just want to put on the record and relive their wild youth again?

For pure musicality, I'd take the backup artists on In the Pocket over the musicians on any 20 death metal acts.

I'm more a collector than an audiophile. I have a nice sound system, and I change the needle of my record player every year or so, but I can't tell the difference between a clean record and a CD or even a 320 .mp3 unless I turn the sound up really loud, which I usually don't do.

Probably none. He sold 20 million records or something like that. I doubt that my two James Taylor LPs will be anything special.

I just got an Edith Piaf record in the mail. She used to date middleweight boxing champion, Marcel Cerdan. He beat her.
